Flip Chips: Empowering Your Practice Through Consent
YOCO Yoga Collective | OCT 25, 2025

At YOCO, we believe yoga should feel safe, empowering, and deeply personal. Every student deserves to move through class in a way that honors their boundaries and needs — which is why we use Flip Chips, also known as Touch Consent Chips.
Flip Chips offer a simple, non-verbal way to share your comfort level with hands-on assists from your teacher. At the start of class, you can place a chip beside your mat and flip it to reflect how you’re feeling that day.
Assist: You’re open to hands-on adjustments or support.
No Hands-On Assist: You’d prefer not to be touched today.
It’s that simple — no need to say a word.
We know every day is different. What feels supportive one day might feel different the next. Flip Chips give you the freedom to make choices based on what you need in the moment.
You can change your mind at any time, whether it’s before class, during your flow, or even in savasana. Just flip your chip to show what you need.
Our teachers are here to support your experience, not define it. When you use Flip Chips, you help us create a culture of consent, communication, and care that uplifts everyone in the room.
Yoga is about connection: to breath, to body, and to self. By honoring your needs and using your Flip Chip, you take an active role in your own practice and help others feel comfortable doing the same.
At YOCO, we’ll always celebrate that.
Your practice.
Your space.
Your choice.
